GENERAL PARK RULES
Safety & Supervision
- Parks are use-at-your-own-risk.
- Parents/guardians must actively supervise children at all times.
- No rough play, fighting, or unsafe behavior.
- Use equipment only for its intended purpose.
- Follow all posted rules for specific amenities.
Hours & Access
- Parks are open daily from dawn to 10pm unless otherwise posted.
- No unauthorized access outside of operating hours.
- Some facilities may require reservations or permits.
Cleanliness & Respect
- Dispose of trash in designated receptacles.
- Help keep parks clean—leave the space better than you found it.
- No littering or dumping.
Property Protection & Vandalism
- Vandalism will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
- This includes graffiti, defacing, damaging, or destroying park property, equipment, signage, or facilities.
- Violators will be removed from the park and subject to fines, full restitution for damages, and possible prosecution.
- Help protect your park—report any damage or suspicious activity.
Alcohol, Tobacco & Drugs
- No illegal drugs or substances.
- Smoking and vaping only in designated areas (if applicable).
- Alcohol is prohibited.
Pets
- Pets must be on a leash at all times unless in a designated off-leash area.
- Owners must clean up after their pets.
- Aggressive animals are not permitted.
Vehicles & Parking
- Vehicles must remain in designated parking areas.
- No driving or parking on grass, trails, or unauthorized areas.
- Follow all posted traffic signage.
Food & Grilling
- Food and beverages are allowed in designated areas only.
- No grilling in Henslee Park, however grilling is allowed in Lakeview Park.
- No glass containers.
Shelters & Facilities
- Some pavilions are available for reservations, while others are first come, first served unless reserved. Reservations do not give you exclusive use of the entire park.
- Do not move tables, benches, or park equipment.
- Keep walkways and entrances clear.
Prohibited Activities
- No fireworks or open flames.
- No unauthorized sales, solicitation, or events without a permit.
- No climbing on structures not designed for climbing.
Weather & Conditions
- Use caution during extreme weather conditions.
- Amenities may close due to weather or maintenance.
- Follow all posted closures and staff instructions.
Enforcement
Failure to follow park rules may result in removal from the park and/or suspension of park privileges.
HENSLEE PARK SPLASH PAD & PLAYGROUND
Safety
- Use at your own risk.
- Surfaces may be slippery and hot.
- Supervise children at all times.
- No rough play or unsafe behavior. - Please remind older children to be mindful of their surroundings.
- Water should stay on the splash pad, NOT on the play equipment
- Climb only on designated structures.
- No scooters, skateboards, bikes, motorized toys.
- Football, soccer, nerf guns, beach balls, dodge balls, etc can be played with on the natural grass, but NOT on the turf or concrete.
- Visitors should be mindful of their surroundings.
- No pets allowed on the splash pad surface or the playground.
Attire
- Swim attire required.
- Swim diapers required if not potty trained.
Food & Drinks
- No food, drinks, or gum on splash pad or turf.
- Food allowed in picnic/grass areas only.
- No grilling.
- Please do not move picnic tables.
Set-Up
- No chairs or tents on turf (grass only).
- Keep walkways clear.
- No sunbathing or lying on the turf or concrete. You may do these things on the natural grass.
Cleanliness
- No glass.
- Use trash cans.
- Do not enter if sick (vomiting, diarrhea, or contagious illness within 24 hours).
- Exit during lightning or severe weather.
- No sidewalk chalk on the splash pad surface.
Hours Open daily 8 AM–8 PM (weather permitting). Closed Wednesdays until 4 PM for maintenance. Hours may vary. Call (615) 446-1721 to confirm.
