The Seconds Matter! campaign places free address markers at residences in the City of Dickson Under social distancing guidelines due to the COVID-19 healthcare crisis, personnel installing the markers will not be going door-to-door in order to reduce contact. Anyone who resides within the city limits can complete and submit the application and a department member will place a free address marker at the location. The Seconds Matter! campaign is a program funded by the Dickson City Council in 2016 to offer free, uniform address markers for every residence. Markers are placed for best available visibility to make it easier for emergency personnel to locate a residence when responding to a call for assistance. Message from Chief Greer
Hello, and welcome to the City of Dickson Fire Department website; I want to personally thank you for visiting us. As chief, I have the opportunity to serve in a great community with some of the finest men and women in the world. Over the years, the responsibilities of the fire department have grown from just "fighting fires." In today’s fire service we deliver a wider range of services than was ever imagined when many of us first entered the fire service. Our continuing goal at the City of Dickson Fire Department is to ensure that when someone picks up the phone and dials 911, they know that they will receive a quick response from well trained and dedicated firefighters.
We operate out of two stations with 39 full time shift firefighters as well as, 5 administrative personnel. We provide services in 5 different divisions; Administrative, Suppression, Training, Inspections/Investigations and Public Education. We currently hold an ISO rating of three (3).
The men and women serving the City of Dickson Fire Department do so with courage, dedication, and professionalism. I believe that your fire department is prepared to meet any challenges the future may bring. These are just a few of the reasons that I am honored and proud to be the chief of the City of Dickson Fire Department.
Thank you.
Chief Richard Greer
