The Dickson Senior Center is owned and operated by the City of Dickson. The Senior Center was built in 1977, additions were added in 1980, 1991 and 1999. This agency serves anyone 60 years of age and older. There is no membership fee; however volunteer donations are always welcome. The Senior Center is a “multi-purpose center” and is considered the “Community Focal Point” for services for older residents in Dickson County. This distinction is given to Senior Center’s where other services, such as transportation and nutrition services are housed within the center, but provided and operated by other agencies. Several activities are offered throughout each month, and are listed in our monthly newsletter. Newsletters are available to anyone on the last Thursday evening of each month, for the upcoming month.
On these pages are some of the activities and services offered and a brief description of them.
We are proud of our Senior Citizen Center and would really appreciate the chance to get to know you better by having YOU become a participant.
Several volunteers help with center activities, such as telephone reassurance, friendly visitation, congregate and add-a-dish meals, dances, bus services, get well cards, field trips, etc. Our volunteers are our “Greatest Assets” and many more are needed.
