The Public Works Department is divided up into several divisions including Administration, Sanitation, Streets, and Storm Water with 27 full time employees.

Our normal hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., however our employees are on call 24 hours a day.

Administration Division

Provides centralized administration for all other operating divisions of the department. Provides in-house planning, design, and other services for infrastructure improvements for the City of Dickson.

Jeff Lewis is the director of the Public Works Department. Kimberly Givens is Mr. Lewis’s administrative assistant. The Public Works Department office is located at 600 East Walnut Street. 2013 Holiday Refuse Pick Up Schedule

New Year’s Day:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. If your normal pick up day is on Tuesday, then your garbage will be picked up on Wednesday, January 2, 2013.

Martin Luther King Day:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Monday, January 21, 2013. If your normal pick up day is on Monday, then your garbage will be picked up on Tuesday, January 22, 2013.

President’s Day:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Monday, February 18, 2013. If your normal pick up day is on Monday, then your garbage will be picked up on Tuesday, February 19, 2013.

Good Friday:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Friday, March 29, 2013.

Memorial Day:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2013. If your normal pick up day is on Monday, then your garbage will be picked up on Tuesday, May 28, 2013.

Independence Day:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2013. If your normal pick up day is on Thursday, then your garbage will be picked up on Monday, July 8, 2013.

Labor Day:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2013. If your normal pick up day is on Monday, then your garbage will be picked up on Tuesday, September 3, 2013.

Thanksgiving Day and the Day After Thanksgiving:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Thursday, November 28, 2013, and Friday, November 29, 2013. If your garbage is normally picked up on Thursday, your garbage will be picked up on Monday, December 2, 2013.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Tuesday, December 24, 2013, and Wednesday, December 25, 2013. If your garbage is normally picked up on Tuesday, then your garbage will be picked up on Monday, December 23, 2013. If your garbage is normally picked up on Wednesday, then your garbage will be picked up on Thursday, December 26, 2013.

Please make sure garbage is out by the curb by 6:30 a.m.
