Parks Mission Statement

The mission of the Employees at the City of Dickson Parks & Recreation Department is to provide a safe, clean & beautiful environment as well as updated facilities for recreation along with professionally managed leisure activities for people of all ages, in order to enrich the quality of life for local citizens.

The Parks Department is split into 4 divisions: Maintenance, Programs, Rangers and Administrative. Maintenance and Programs information is below, Rangers and Administrative information is forthcoming.

Maintenance Division

This division is headed up by David Travis. We have (5) full time maintenance employees. This division is responsible for the maintenance of 6 municipal parks. This division is also responsible for the upkeep of playing surfaces, playgrounds, picnic areas and walking trails. These areas are inspected daily. Building and grounds inspections are also performed daily.

Programs Division

The Programs Division is headed up by Cherie Wilson. This division develops and implements programs for youth adults and seniors alike. Programs such as: Friday Night Lights, Easter Egg Hunt, Spooks In the Park, Christmas in the Park and Octoberfest Car Show.
